Karachi: The elections of mayor, deputy mayor and other chiefs of local bodies institutions will be held tomorrow (Thursday).
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has changed venue of the elections owing to tropical storm Biparjoy. On the other hand the ECP has also announced procedure of mayor and deputy mayor elections.
On morning of June 15, at 9 am candidates and voters will enter in the polling stations while voters must have their Identity Cards (ID) cards.
No voter can’t keep his mobile in his possession at the time of entry into the polling station.
Mayor and Deputy mayor election will be held at 10:30 am by show of hands. In first phase elections for mayor will held while voters will directed to go to partition of their candidates. Whereas the elections for Deputy Mayor will be held in the same way.
The ECP has decided to make Karachi Arts Council (KAC) as the polling station due to arrival of cyclone Biperjoy. Before this the polling had to be held at Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) council hall..
