KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar has filed a petition at Sindh High Court against Sindh government’s handing over of Bagh Ibne Qasim to Bahria Town. The petitions pleads the court to to declare the handing over of the Bagh by Sindh government unconstitutional and illegal.
Talking to media after filing the petition Waseem Akhtar lashed out at Sindh government saying that whatsoever encroachment and China-cutting had to be done has been done and it would not be allowed anymore. We say that this park belongs to people and it should open remain open for them at all times, he added.
When we handed over this park to Sindh government it was green but now it is dry and on the slide while the rulers are bent to commercialize it as well but we wuld not let that happen.
Bad governance has peaked in Sindh province and two IG police are working simultaneously in the province while all the policemen are worried to whom they should obey. Will the people of Karachi get the water from K-4 project, Waseem asked Sindh government.
