LAHORE: The Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a project aimed at providing spectacles and hearing aids to 700,000 students across the province.
In this project, students in both public and private schools throughout the province will undergo screening to assess their eyesight and hearing abilities. Those identified as visually or hearing impaired will receive the necessary support in the form of spectacles or hearing aids, ensuring they have equal access to education and learning opportunities.
Approximately 0.7 million students in Punjab will benefit from the provision of glasses and hearing aids.
The project has garnered significant financial backing from the renowned organization AT Scale, which has promised a large sum of Rs500 million to support its implementation.
In a recent meeting with an AT scale delegation, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz discussed various educational initiatives, including the provision of internet services in schools and addressing the nutritional needs of school going children.

“Positive change is possible only with new thinking in the new era,” Maryam stressed, stressing that every child has the right to receive education according to global benchmarks.
She announced the activation of free of cost emergency Wi-Fi services across Lahore, further enhancing access to educational resources.
CM Maryam Nawaz revealed plans to introduce packaged milk with contributions from the private sector.
