Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross split after 9 years together

WEB DESK: American actor and director Mel Gibson and his partner of nine years, Rosalind Ross, have ended their relationship, as confirmed by a representative from Gibson’s legal team to Reuters.

In a joint statement shared exclusively with People magazine the same day, it was revealed that the couple actually separated about a year ago but had chosen to keep the news private until now.

Gibson, now 69, and Ross, 35, emphasized their commitment to co-parenting their eight-year-old son. They expressed gratitude amidst the split, stating that while this chapter in their lives has come to an end, they remain devoted to being the best parents for their child.

The pair first met in 2014 through mutual friends and began dating shortly afterward, although they never married.

Gibson has seven children, ranging in age from 26 to 45, with his former wife Robyn Moore, a dental nurse whom he was married to from 1980 until their divorce in 2011. He also shares a 16-year-old daughter with Russian pianist and songwriter Oksana Grigorieva; the two separated in 2010.

Renowned for his significant contributions to cinema, Gibson gained fame for his roles in the iconic post-apocalyptic series Mad Max (1979–1985) and the blockbuster buddy cop franchise Lethal Weapon (1987–1998). His directorial portfolio is equally acclaimed, including the Oscar-winning historical drama Braveheart (1995), the biblical epic The Passion of the Christ (2004), and the war drama Hacksaw Ridge (2016), which earned him another Best Director Oscar nomination.

Ross, a former equestrian vaulter, transitioned into filmmaking and made her directorial debut with the biographical drama Father Stu (2022), starring actor Mark Wahlberg.
