Mercury dips nationwide, people bracing for cold

Cold wave has taken the country in its grip with snowing in Murre and surrounding Galliat, Malam Jabba, Kalam, and Azad Kashmir and further rains in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, and Upper Punjab to result dipping of mercury.

Karachi too is being ruled by cold waves while foggy conditions are likely to continue over plain areas of Punjab and Sindh during night and morning hours.

Yesterday Rawalpindi had received 26 millimetre rain, Kotli 16, Muzaffarabad 15, Islamabad 11, Lower Dir 10 while Murree and Saidu Sharif were lashed by nine and eight millimetre of rain respectively.

Met Department has forecast mainly cold and dry weather in most parts of the country today while Foggy conditions are likely to continue over plain areas of Punjab and Sindh during night and morning hours.

This morning temeperature in Islamabad was recorded five degree centigrade, Lahore eight, Karachi twelve, Peshawar four, Quetta minus five, Gilgit zero, Murree minus three and Muzaffarabad four degree centigrade.
