Mercury Likely To Hit 38 Degree Celsius In Karachi Today  

Karachi (September 22, 2018): The Meteorological Department has forecast hot weather for Karachi from Saturday (Today) and Sunday.

Director Met Office Abdul Rasheed said the temperature in Karachi is expected to rise from September 22 to 26 owing to the low pressure of winds in Bay of Bengal. However, the temperature will start going down from September 26.

He went on to say the mercury is expected to hit 39 degree Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.

The intensity of heat increased in the city on Saturday as wind blowing from the sea stopped.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the temperature in Karachi is likely to reach as high as 39°C.

The rise in temperature in Sindh, including Karachi, is also caused by low pressure of wind from the Bay of Bengal.However, mercury is expected to go down after September 26, as per forecast by officials at PMD.

On the other hand, weather turned pleasant in other parts of the country following rainfall there.

Earlier on September 07, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had expressed the possibility of rainfall in different parts of the country on Friday.

According to the Met Office, seasonal low lie over northeast Balochistan. Weak moist currents from the bay of Bengal were reaching northeastern parts of the country.Met office had predicted rain-thundershower with gusty winds at isolated places in Gujranwala, Lahore, Rawalpindi divisions and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.Hot and humid weather was expected elsewhere in the country. The weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country during the past 24 hours. Sibbi remained the hottest place in the country on Thursday with the temperature rising up to 42°C.
