RAWALPINDI: Military spokesperson Major General Asif Ghafoor, in an interview to Russian media, has claimed that Pakistan used JF-17 Thunder to take down Indian jet instead of F-16.
In his interview to a Russian news agency, Major General Asif Ghafoor reiterated that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) used JF-17 Thunder to shoot down the Indian jet penetrating in Pakistan’s airspace.
“We acted against continued Indian aggression and in response to their dropping of the payloads within Pakistan’s territory”, DG ISPR stated.
He added that all of Pakistan’s jets were in the air as it can be clearly seen in the captured videos.
DG ISPR told the foreign news agency that the Air Force’s actions were to make India realize that Pakistan can too retaliate and possesses the capability to target them.
“On the issue of the F-16 jet, Pakistan and American will decide whether to proceed with implementation on Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) or not”, the military spokesperson concluded.
