Ministry of Energy Signs 15 MoU with Different Countries

Islamabad (August 23, 2017): The Senate was informed on Wednesday that Ministry of Energy has signed fifteen agreements and Memoranda of Understanding with different countries during the last five years to enhance cooperation in the field of energy. 

Responding to a question during the question hour, Minister of State for Petroleum Jam Kamal Khan said these agreements have been signed with Azerbaijan, Turkey, Qatar, Iran, China, Russia, Turkmenistan, United Kingdom and Kuwait.

To a question, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab informed the House that PML-N government has started development projects in all the provinces, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

He said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project started by the government will connect all the provinces and bring prosperity and development across the country.

He said under Sustainable Development project, the federal government and the provinces will contribute fifty per cent funds each for small schemes like water supply, basic health units and pavement of streets.
