Islamabad (December 15, 2017): Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court has summoned Inspector General Police Islamabad and SHO Nawaz Bhatti in person in case pertaining to implementation of court’s order over lodging of FIR of drone attack in Mir Ali in 2009.

During today’s hearing Advocate General Mian Abdul Rauf appeared on behalf of the federation, while Mirza Shehzad Akbar advocate appeared on behlf of petitioner Karim Khan.

At one point during the hearing Justice Siddiqui commented that shying away from taking responsibility when due is just not acceptable. The FIR stands registered why action could not be taken over it as per the law.

Expressing annoyance at lack of action Justice Siddiqui asked federation’s counsel why despite court’s order he had forwarded the issue where it was not meant to be forwarded.Summoning IG Islamabad and SHO Nawaz Bhatti in person on next hearing the court adjourned the hearing till January 15, 2018.

It may be mentioned here that the petitioner has approached the court seeking implementation of an order of the court to register FIR over US drone attack in Mir Ali. The petition was filed by Haji Abdul Karim Khan, a resident of the North Waziristan tribal region.

Karim Khan had filed the petition at the IHC in 2010 is seeking registration of an FIR with the Secretariat Police Station against Banks for killing his son and a brother in a 2009 drone attack. The police station had earlier refused Karim’s request to register the FIR.
