WEB DESK: Mila Magi, Miss England 2024, has suddenly withdrawn from the Miss World competition held in India.
According to the British newspaper The Sun, Mila Magi accused the organizers of the contest treated her like a ordinary person. It is noteworthy that this is the first time in the 74-year history of the Miss World pageant that a Miss England has withdrawn from the competition mid-way.
Mila Magi stated that on May 7, during an promotional event in Hyderabad, India, she was told to sit with the businesspeople supporting the show as a gesture of gratitude and to keep them happy. She said, “I felt like we were being used to please the audience. I didn’t come to Miss World to be someone’s entertainment. This pageant is deviating from its own claims.
She further added that when she tried to speak about her social causes during the event, the attendees showed disinterest.Mila Magi left the competition on May 16 and returned to the UK. Her place will now be taken by the runner-up, Miss England, and current Miss Liverpool, Charlotte Grant.The director of Miss England, Angie Bessile, attributed Mila Magi’s withdrawal to “personal reasons.”
Meanwhile, Julia Morley, CEO of the Miss World organization, denied Mila Magi’s allegations, stating that she had requested to withdraw due to her mother’s poor health.It is also noted that the Miss World 2025 contest is ongoing in Hyderabad, India, with the grand final scheduled for May 31.
