Mobile Phone Services Restored, Ban Lifted On Pillion Riding

Karachi (September 22, 2018): Mobile phone services have been restored in major cities across the country, including Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar, after they were partially suspended on account of Youm-e-Ashur on Friday.

The services were to remain suspended from 7am till midnight, along with the routes of the Ashura processions.

Strict security measures were taken for the processions, with contingents of police and paramilitary forces deployed along the routes of processions across the country.

Whereas ban lifted on pillion riding In Sindh as Ashura processions concluded peacefully across the province.

The Sindh government had placed a three-day ban on pillion riding on 8, 9 and 10 Muharram across the province.

Further, the Pak-Afghan border in Chaman and Pak-Iran border in Taftan had been closed for two days.
