For the first time in six years, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unlikely to attend the G7 summit.The summit, hosted by Canada, is scheduled to take place from the 15th to the 17th of this month.
According to Indian media, Prime Minister Modi has not yet received an official invitation to attend the summit from Canada, and it is being reported in India that even if an invitation is extended, Modi is likely not to participate.
This is especially the case as India is uncertain whether the new Canadian government will take Indian concerns about Khalistan activities seriously or not.
A Canadian G7 spokesperson has not confirmed whether Modi will be invited or not.
