KARACHI: Moharram-ul-Haram moon has been sighted and first Moharram is on October 3, while Ashura day will be observed on October 12.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman chaired Roet-e-Hilal Committee meeting in Karachi for moon sighting of Moharram-ul-Haram, which was attended by the Committee members, scholars and officials of meteorological and astronomical department.
Talking to media after the meeting, Roet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that Central Roet-e-Hilal Committee has received evidences of moon sighting from all four provinces, in the light of which first Moharram is on Monday October 3, while Ashura day will be observed on October 12 on Wednesday.
