ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the attack on former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s car in London.
In his statement, Naqvi directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to swiftly identify the assailants. He also confirmed that a vehicle belonging to the Pakistani High Commissioner was targeted in the incident.
“We cannot stay silent on this matter,” Naqvi remarked, questioning the lack of security for Qazi Faez Isa despite prior threats. He ordered an investigation to identify the attackers using available footage and assured that legal actions would follow.
Naqvi stated that an FIR would be filed in Pakistan to pursue the case, including steps to block the attackers’ identity cards and revoke their passports. He announced plans to strip the assailants of their Pakistani citizenship, pending cabinet approval. “Such attacks will not be tolerated,” he asserted.
PTI activists attempted to obstruct Qazi Isa’s vehicle, which is associated with the Pakistan High Commission, even trying to break its windows. They chanted slogans upon seeing his car and ran alongside it.
Qazi Isa was on his way to a ceremony at the Middle Temple, where senior PTI leaders, including Zulfi Bukhari, Malika Bukhari, and Azhar Mashwani, addressed supporters protesting against the former Chief Justice.
