KARACHI: A new case of monkeypox has been reported in Karachi.
According to hospital officials, a 45-year-old resident of Shahjhani Town tested positive for MPX. The patient was brought to Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital on Wednesday.
Hospital authorities stated that after the appearance of rashes on the patient’s body, a PCR test for MPX was conducted, which confirmed the monkeypox infection.
The hospital officials confirmed that the patient is currently under treatment at Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital.
The Health Department reported that this year, a total of 42 confirmed cases of monkeypox have been reported in Sindh. Out of these, 14 cases are from Karachi.
