Most areas of country in grips of intensive heat

The Meterorological Department has forecast excessive heat in plateau areas of the country while plateaus in Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtwankhwa provinces continue to remain in the grips of  and the scorching heat.

Temperature in Dera Ismail Khan and Sukkur soared to 47 degree dentigared while according to the Met Department the mercury in Moenjodaro rose to 46 degree; Turbat 45 degree, and Hyderabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Beanzirabad, and Toba Tek Singh it was also 45 degree. Temperature in Jhang, Multan, and Faisalabad was 44 degree; Bhawalpur, Lahore, and sahiwal 43 degree; Rawalpindi and Islamabad 41 degree while in Karachi it was recorded 37 degree.

The Met Department forecast continuation of heat wave over the next few days with weather remaining dry.

The curse of power load shedding continues along with the excessive heat. The power demand increased by 1,500 megawatts while the overall power shortfall has peaked to 5,750 megawatt.
