KARAHI: The chairman of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Afaq Ahmed, has been arrested.
According to police sources, Afaq Ahmed was arrested for making an inflammatory statement.
Earlier, during a press conference, Afaq Ahmed stated that in just 40 days, 92 people were crushed under trucks and dumpers. He welcomed the decision to not allow heavy traffic into the city.
He mentioned that in some places, angry individuals set fire to vehicles after traffic accidents, and in Landhi, people were agitated due to the previous day’s accident.
Afaq Ahmed appealed to the public to protest but not burn vehicles, urging people to keep an eye on those trying to exploit the situation for their own benefit. It is worth noting that a few days ago, Afaq Ahmed had announced that he was instructing the youth of the Muhajir community as an elder brother, stating that from Tuesday onwards, there should be no heavy traffic in the city
