Mufti Qavi, known for his controversial remarks, recently spoke about Rakhi Sawant’s Umrah pilgrimage, praising her spiritual journey and referring to her as a “respectable woman.”
The discussion took a surprising turn when Mufti Qavi addressed Sawant’s expressed interest in marrying a Pakistani scholar. In response, he said, “I am here and ready, but with one condition: I will first ask my mother for permission. If she permits me, then, as per her command, you will need to ask me before you get married.”
In a further unexpected move, Mufti Qavi shared a personal story from his past, revealing that he had been married to a woman from a distinguished family with ties to historical figures like Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Quaid-e-Azam, Gandhi Ji, and Nehru. He described the painful loss of his wife, who tragically passed away, and explained that he continues to honor her memory by praying at her grave.
