KARACHI: Mufti Taqi Usmani’s driver, Amir Shahab, who succumbed to his injuries, late on Wednesday night will be laid to rest today (Thursday).
A day earlier, Mufti Taqi Usmani’s driver, Amir Shahab, who was critically injured in an assassination attempt over Mufti Taqi Usmani, last month, succumbed to his injuries late on Wednesday.
Dr Seemi Jamali, executive director of Jinnah hospital, confirmed the news of Mufti Taqi Usmani’s driver, Aamir Shahab’s demise.
It must be noted that prominent religious scholar Mufti Mohammad Taqi Usmani survived an assassination attempt on March 22 as unidentified gunmen opened fire on two vehicles in Karachi.
His police guard Farooq and private guard Sanobar Khan were killed on the spot as the result of an attack.
However, a case was registered by the police against unknown armed assailants under PPC’s sections 324 and 302.
