Former captain Muhammad Hafeez, who worked as a director with the Pakistan cricket team, announced to reveal the facts of the poor performance of the national team, yesterday there were reports that after the administrative change in the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohammad Hafeez’s role as Director of Cricket has ended.
According to reports, the former Test captain was given a clear message by the board’s top officials that his services would not be required in the near future, Mohammad Hafeez, 43, left for the Australia tour in December 2023 as director of cricket, but before the New Zealand tour was over, PCB management committee chief Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf resigned from his post due to his lack of involvement with the board. While issuing a statement on social media, Muhammad Hafeez said that “I always preferred Pakistan and was proud to represent Pakistan. I accepted the position of Pakistan Team Director for positive reforms. But with the new chairman it was reduced to two months.Hafeez said that I take responsibility for everything during the time given to me, I will bring out reasons for poor performances and amateur non-cricketing facts.”He also expressed good wishes for Pakistan cricket.
It should be noted that Muhammad Hafeez was also thanked by the Pakistan Cricket Board yesterday.
The PCB issued a statement saying that it appreciates the services of Mohammad Hafeez, he impressed the players with his spirit during the tour of Australia and New Zealand, and the board wishes him all the best for the future.
