Muhammaz Zubair’s appointment as Sindh Governor challenged in IHC  

KARACHI:  The appointment of Muhammad Zubair as Governor Sindh was challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The petitioner, a freelance journalist, has took the plea that the former Chairman Privatization Commission Muhammad Zuabir was not qualified to be appointed as Governor Sindh.

He pleaded the court to declare the appointment of Muhammad Zubair as illegal. Petitioner Shahid Orakzai argued that before administering oath to Muhammad Zuabir, the chief justice of Sindh high Court did not confirm that the appointee was a permanent resident of Sin dh and registered voter.

He further said that Zubair was not a sitting member of provincial assembly ot National Assembly from Sindh. He joined Pakistan Mulsim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in 2012 and in 2013 general election he was not given ticket.

The petitioner maintained that as per electoral law there was no written proof of his qualification. He pleaded the court to suspend the appointment of Muhammad Zubair.
