ABU DHABI: Multan Sultans beat Peshawar Zalmi by 47 runs to win the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) crown at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Chasing a target of 207 for the victory, Peshawar Zalmi lost in-form opener Hazratullah Zazai in the fifth over when their total was 42. Hazratullah Zazai scored 6 runs.
Kamran Akmal, who was playing well, fell on the same total after scoring 36 runs off 28 balls. Jonathan Wells stay at the crease was also short as he was run out when his personal score was 6.
Shoib Malik then combined with Rovman Powell and added 66 runs for the fourth wicket partnership. Malik got out at his personal score of 48. Powell followed him after scoring 18 runs.
Sultans are first timers in the final, whereas Zalmi have tasted the flavour of championship.
