Multan tops List as Pakistan’s most polluted city, Lahore marks Second place

Lahore : Heavy fog and smog disrupts Punjab and KP, Multiple motorways closed

Dense fog and smog continue to prevail across many cities in Punjab, KP and Including Multan, which recorded the highest levels of fog, and Lahore, where visibility is severely reduced.

Following motorways have been closed due to the hazardous conditions, In which M1 Charsadda to Akbarpura, M2 Lahore to Kot Sarwar, M3 and M4 also reamin closed along with Sialkot Motorway. M5 has also been shut down.

In light of the continuing dangerous weather conditions, the Lahore High Court has ordered that all markets in Punjab close by 8:00 PM starting immediately.

Additionally all markets in the province will remain closed on Sunday.

Flight schedule has also been affected due to the worsened condition of smog.

Six flights were canceled, including the PIA flight from Lahore to Riyadh, while 29 flights experienced delays.

The operations from Multan and Faisalabad airports were also disrupted, with four flights delayed.

Notably, the Faisalabad to Dubai flight was delayed by three hours, and Karachi to Dubai flight PK 213 departed two and a half hours late.

The smog significantly impacted air traffic in the region.
