MULTAN: A roof of a under-construction building plaza caves in that caused the killing of two persons while more than 25 people have trapped under the debris in Multan on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Bosan road where the commercial plaza suddenly collapsed, also damaging a nearby restaurant, hotel and shops.
Rescue 1122 rushed to the scene of the incident with six ambulances shifting those injured to Nishter Hospital.
The traffic around the roads was stand still causing the trouble for the movement of ambulances. So far, no loss of life has been reported in the incident.
Rescue sources say it is unclear how many people are trapped. A police official told media that that around 20-25 people were buried under the debris.
“We were alerted of the incident around 4pm. The route leading to the plaza is clear for rescuers but all other traffic has been diverted,” he told.
“There were four structures beneath the building and there were around 20-25 people in them,” he said, adding that four people were recovered alive and one body was recovered.
An emergency has been imposed in hospitals in the area and rescue operations supervised by the DCO Multan are ongoing.
