Murad Ali Shah takes oath as CM Sindh for third term.

KARACHI: PPP committed Murad Ali Shah has been sworn in as the chief minister of Sindh., The investiture of the newly elected chief minister took place at the Sindh Governor’s House.

The oath-taking ceremony, held at the Governor House, solidified his position as the 25th Chief Minister of Sindh.

Governor Sindh, Kamran Tessori, administered the oath to Shah, signifying the official transfer of power from the caretaker government led by Justice (retired) Maqbool Baqir.

The ceremony witnessed the participation of prominent figures, including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and other party leaders like Faryal Talpur.

Following the oath-taking, Shah warmly shook hands with Zardari, signifying a sense of camaraderie and continuity within the PPP.

Shah had been elected the 25th leader of the House with 112 votes against MQM-Pakistan’s Ali Khurseedi, who bagged only 36 votes. The hall resounded with pro-PPP slogans, as Murad was elected with a two-third majority for the first time.

In total, 148 members of the assembly participated in the voting process. However, nine PTI-backed winning members of the assembly as well as one from the Jamaat-e-Islami boycotted the session.
