Murald Ali Shah elected new Chief Minister Sindh with majority

Following the resignation of the Qaim Ali Shah as CM Sindh on the party directives, Sindh assembly has elected Murad Ali Shah new Chief Minister Sindh with simple majority.

The special session was convened by speaker with one point agenda of election of news cheif minister sindh as the session started the process of election got underway. Murad Ali Shah from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Khuram Sher Zaman from PTI contested the election.

PPP Murad Ali Shah secured 88 votes while his opponent candidate Khurram Sher Zaman got only 3 votes as MQM members were stayed away despite presence in the assembly while the members of  PML-N and PML-F  did not come up for voting process which ensured the success of Murad Ali Shah.

Talking on the occasion the senior leader of PPP Nisar Khuro paid tribute to former CM Qaim Ali Shah said that he had seen several ups and down and had learnt a lot from him, however now time for young ones and he encourage Murad as new chief minister Sindh.

The contesting candidate of PTI Khurram Sher Zaman exposing heaps of problems demanded that Rangers should have to be given policing powers, steps needed to eliminate corruption, improvement in education, overcome to deteriorating cleanliness situation, sole shortage of water and health problems.

MQM arrested MPA Rauf Siddiqui said that a good ruler was the gift of Allah and he only demand from newly elected CM to restore just in the province. He further said that he liked the modesty of Murad Ali Shah as he went to everyone either he has given him vote or not.

New chief minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah’s sworn in ceremony will be held at Governor House today.
