KARACHI: Police has got call data record of an accused Atif Zaman in the murder of abbtakk news former news anchor Mureed Abbass while police also took custody of his car and recovered more than 40 bullets.
According to sources investigation of the murder of ex-abbtakk news anchor Mureed Abbass and his friend Khizer Hyat is continued as per the police sources the accused Atif had telephoned five business partners including Mureed and Khizer before the murder while the police has also obtained information of more than 35 persons from his recovered mobile and they will be made part of the investigation.
According to police in his telephonic conversation with the Mureed and Khizer, Atif had called him ‘Bara Bhukhari’ and ‘Chota Bukhari’ respectively while the accused murdered Mureed in the office premise and shot dead Khizer outside the office.
On the other hand, police also have taken custody of his vehicle and recovered more than 40 bullets while investigation sources said that the accused tried to commit suicide in running vehicle and bullet penetrated near his heart and it looked as he was a sharpshooter.
Investigation sources also said that if recovered ammunition found to be on someone other names then separate FIR will be lodged.
Besides, Atif Zaman’s condition is critical in a private hospital as he is under treatment in an intensive care unit.
