WEB DESK: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has shared his perspective on religion, revealing that he discusses faith openly with his sons, Taimur and Jahangir, and teaches them the same principles his mother instilled in him.
In a recent event held in London, Saif explained that he is not deeply religious himself, but he has passed down the teachings he received from his mother—that there is only one God—to his children.
He also shared that he was educated in schools that emphasized respect for various religions and their festivals. His schools began each day with a prayer in a church. At one point, he tried to avoid participating by claiming a different religion, but a religious leader was called in, making it difficult to escape.
Saif emphasized that his children will pray, take part in rituals from different faiths, and celebrate festivals like Diwali and Christmas just as they observe their own traditions.
It’s worth noting that Saif Ali Khan has been married to actresses from different religious backgrounds. His marriage to Kareena Kapoor occurred in 2012. Saif is currently 53, while Kareena is 44. The couple has two sons, Taimur and Jahangir.
Before this, Saif was married to actress Amrita Singh in 1991. Amrita was 13 years his senior, and they have two children together—Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The couple parted ways in 2004.
