ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA and husband of Maryum Nawaz Captain (Retd) Safder has said that the allegation against her wife regarding possession of illegal assets are false and his wife did not own any offshore company.
Safder submitted his reply in Supreme Court on Friday in Panama Papers case. In his reply, the son-in-law of the prime minister said that his wife paid taxes regularly and details of which have been submitted with ECP in his statement of assets and liabilities.
He said that his wife did not own the properties the PTI chief had alleged she owned. He requested the court that that the allegations leveled in the petitions of PTI chief were baseless and hence the petition be dismissed.
Safder further said that objection on his qualification was raised after his election which is violation of Article 245 of the constitution.
He said that Speaker National Assembly had not forwarded any reference for his disqualification to the ECP. He contended that after election of a member, the Article 62 and 63 could not be applied.
