Myanmar Foreign Minister arrives in Pakistan for official visit

ISLAMABAD:  Myanmar’s Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, Than Swe, arrived in Islamabad on a four-day official visit aimed at boosting bilateral ties between Pakistan and Myanmar.

Upon arrival, he was welcomed by the Director General of the East Asia Pacific Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with representatives from the Myanmar Embassy. The visit is expected to focus on strengthening diplomatic engagement and cooperation between the two nations.

Separately, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Touhid Hossain. During the call, both leaders reiterated their commitment to deepening bilateral relations.

According to the Foreign Office, the discussion covered a range of shared interests, including trade, economic collaboration, and broader bilateral cooperation. Both sides agreed to expand cooperation across multiple sectors for mutual benefit.

The two foreign ministers also exchanged perspectives on regional and global developments, emphasizing the need for sustained dialogue and cooperation to address common challenges. They reaffirmed their dedication to working jointly for regional peace, stability, and prosperity, and agreed to maintain close coordination on matters of shared concern.
