NA 110: Judiciary disguised by filing adjournment petitions

Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali lamented that filing adjournment petitions regarding election matters every other day disguised the judiciary caused delayment while newspapers published that judiciary did not immediately decide the cases.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) two member bench in chair of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJ) Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard election petition of NA-110 while Khawaja Asif counsel did not appear before the court.  On the counsel absence, the CJ commented that on personnel engagement of the lawyer postponing the hearing is not a solid reason.

The CJ said that  adjournment petitions are filed in election matters every other day and newspapers published that courts did not take decisions early and throgh this act the judiciary is disguised.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Usman Dar’s lawyer Babar Awan said that NADRA has submitted report in the SC but they did not provide the report to us adding that our application to get report from NADRA was not accepted.  Baber said that the votes which was declared right by the NADRA are not right according to NADRA’s record.

PTI candidate’s counsel requested the court that ordered should be given to NADRA that they hand over NA 110 balloting record to us.

While hearing of the case adjourned till next week.
