By-election in National Assembly constituency 162, Chichawatni will be held today under the supervision of Pak army troops. A tough competition is expected between candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Rai Murtaza Ali and PMLN’s Tufail Jutt while Peoples Party’s Shahzad Cheema is also a candidate.

The seat was vacanted after PTI’s Hassan Nawaz was declared unfit by the Supreme Court over hiding his assets.

A total of 14 candidates including those from political parties are contesting the by-election.

The security and other arrangements for the by-election is being handed over to the Pak army.

There are over 306,000 registered voters for whom 293 polling stations are being installed. Of these 293 polling 22 are being declared extra sensitive.
