NA Speaker denies rumors of Balochistan CM Bugti’s Ouster

ISLAMABAD: Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly, on Wednesday dismissed claims suggesting the removal of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, emphasizing that such rumors are unfounded. He reaffirmed that the provincial coalition government remains fully committed to the province’s development and prosperity.

The clarification came following a meeting in Islamabad with Chief Minister Bugti, who was accompanied by Mir Saleem Khan Khosa, the Pakistan Muslim League (N)’s Parliamentary Leader in the Balochistan Assembly. The discussions focused on the political landscape, social issues, and ongoing development initiatives in Balochistan.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq rejected the speculation about leadership changes, assuring that the current provincial government will continue its efforts to foster growth and welfare in Balochistan. He highlighted that progress in Balochistan directly contributes to the overall development of Pakistan and praised the significant projects underway in the region as promising.

The meeting also addressed key topics such as public welfare, regional challenges, and the importance of enhanced federal collaboration. The Speaker pledged unwavering support for Balochistan and stressed that resolving the people’s issues remains a top priority. He underscored that effective coordination between the federation and the provinces is crucial for addressing public concerns.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed his appreciation for the Speaker’s parliamentary leadership and support for legislative activities in Balochistan. He acknowledged the sacrifices of the people and security forces in the fight against terrorism, and reaffirmed that Parliament continues to serve as the strong voice representing provincial interests.
