ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau has arrested Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Khursheed Shah in an asset beyond income.
The PPP leader has been arrested from Islamabad by the NAB’s joint team of Rawalpindi and Sukkur and he will be handed over to its Sukkur office which is probing the assets beyond the income case against him.
Talking about his arrest the house employees of Khursheed Shah said that as many as 20 people came to Shah residence and took him into custody.
According to the spokesman, he will be presented to the accountability court of Sukkur for getting his remand.
The opposition has boycotted an ongoing parliamentarian conference after hearing the news of Khursheed Shah arrest.
Earlier. Senior Leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Khursheed Shah had refused to appear before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office in Sukkur citing attending National Assembly session in an asset beyond income investigation against him.
The NAB sources said that in a letter written to the anti-graft body Khursheed Shah said that he has to attend National Assembly session in Islamabad and he can’t appear before the NAB.
It is pertinent to mention here that the NAB had summoned him today in investigation assets beyond the income.
The NAB sources said that Khursheed Shah will be called again through a new letter.
