NAB Granted 11-Day Physical Remand of Zardari in Fake Accounts Case

ISLAMABAD: An Accountability court on Tuesday approved 11-day physical remand of former president Asif Ali Zardari to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in fake bank accounts case.

According to details, Asif Ali Zardari was produced before the accountability court judge Arshad Malik amid tight security.

During the proceedings, NAB requested 14-day physical remand of the PPP co-chairman, which was opposed by Zardari’s counsel Farooq H. Naek.

Accountability court judge Mohammad Arshad Malik announced the reserved decision and ordered that Zardari be presented before the court again on June 21.

Earlier today talking to newsmen outside an Accountability Court in the federal capital, former President reiterated his criticism on PTI-led federal government and the Premier.

“Selected Prime Minister has no clue. Everything is taking place over instructions of Federal Interior Minister”, Zardari said.

He added that his involvement in politics did not matter until his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and daughter Asifa are there, regretting not being able to end NAB in PPP’s tenure.

Answering a question involving his arrest, Zardari was quick to maintain that his children will be there to look after political affairs in his absence.

“Getting arrested is a matter of grace in politics of third world countries. My arrest is another pressure tactic. I told that everything is done by the government, not by NAB Chairman”, Asif Zardari added.
