ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has published its progress report, AbbTakk news reported on Sunday.

According to the report, the NAB had received more than 54,000 complaints regarding corruption. The anti-graft verified 2,100 complaints and performed inquiries on more than 1,900 complaints.

The report has revealed that the NAB had arrested more than 600 suspects under graft charges.

It further revealed that the NAB had filed 590 corruption references in the courts and recovered an amount of Rs4300 from several individuals.

On the other hand, the NAB focused on mega corruption scandals after the appointment of current chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal and concluded hundreds of corruption references and jailed several politicians including a former premier.

However, Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has expressed his commitment to eliminate the corruption and corrupt elements from the country.
