ISLAMABAD: The nation marks the 149th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, fondly remembered as the ‘Father of the Nation,’ with a renewed commitment to uphold his principles of Faith, Unity, and Discipline.
The day’s main ceremony unfolded at the Quaid-i-Azam Mausoleum in Karachi, beginning with a dignified change of guard event. The atmosphere was imbued with solemn pride as a military band performed ceremonial and marching tunes, concluding with a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem.
Prominent civil and military leaders of Pakistan came together to honor Jinnah’s extraordinary contributions and leadership in shaping the nation.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivered tributes that underscored their commitment to upholding Jinnah’s vision for a progressive and prosperous Pakistan. They described his life and legacy as a reminder of resilience, determination, and the historic struggle that led to the nation’s creation.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), representing the Pakistan Armed Forces, also extended their reverence. Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu reiterated their dedication to the principles laid out by Jinnah. On behalf of the Armed Forces, they emphasized their commitment to fostering the strong, sovereign, democratic, and prosperous Pakistan envisioned by Quaid-i-Azam—guided by the enduring principles of faith, unity, and discipline.
