ISLAMABAD: The amended bill seeking approval of extension in military courts was tabled by federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid in the National Assembly. A bill seeking making amendments to Pakistan Army Act 1952 was also tabled in the Assembly.
Presenting the bill Zahid Hamid said that military courts are being established due to serious situation and acts of terrorism. The Assembly is discussing two-year extension in military courts after amidst the new wave of terrorism.
The results of these special measures have been positive but the country is still facing many challenges, he said.
The amendment tabled over military courts extension will be called 23rd constitutional amendment.
