ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Power took notice of the prolonged power outage in Karachi.
A meeting of the Standing Committee on Power of the National Assembly was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Chaudhry Salik Hussain. Committee member Saif-ur-Rehman said that the incompetence of K-Electric is not hidden from anyone. 12 hours daily load shedding is taking place in Karachi. ۔
Secretary Power Ali Raza Bhatta told the committee that government thermal power plants generate old and expensive electricity. Old and expensive power plants are being shut down immediately.
