National Assembly unanimously passes resolution opposing Israeli attack on Iran

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly of Pakistan has unanimously approved a resolution condemning the Israeli attack on Iran. The resolution was jointly presented by the government and the opposition, and was introduced by PPP leader Naveed Qamar.

According to the resolution, the National Assembly condemns Israel’s unjust and illegal aggression against Iran. It strongly denounces the unwarranted and illegitimate attack, asserting that the Israeli strike is a serious violation of Iranian sovereignty.

The text states that the attack on Iran is a clear breach of international law and a violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter. The Resolution emphasizes that Israel’s continued aggression poses serious threats not only to the Middle East but to the entire world.

The resolution clearly states that Pakistan stands with the government, parliament, and people of Iran. It calls for the immediate convening of the Security Council and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address the issue. The Assembly demands that these bodies take urgent action to stop Israel’s aggression against Iran.

During the debate on the resolution, Raja Pervez Ashraf remarked that Israel has now attacked Iran after Palestine. He said, “Israel is the illegitimate child of the United States. After attacking Palestinians, Israel has now attacked Iran, which has emboldened its actions. The world is only passing resolutions against Israel while Israel continues to advance and attack Muslim countries.”

In the session, Rana Tanveer Hussain stated that Israel’s very existence is illegitimate and poses a threat to peace. Pakistan strongly condemns this attack and stands with Iran. He urged the world to stop Israel’s aggression, calling Israel a rogue state engaged in misconduct, and expressed solidarity with Iran.

Barrister Gohar Ali, addressing the assembly, described the attack on Iran as a tragic event in history and condemned it vociferously. He called for an OIC conference and an Arab League summit to be convened immediately. He warned that Israel has become a regional threat and highlighted the ongoing attack on Gaza, which has resulted in over 70,000 casualties. He stressed that the Muslim world has yet to take effective action.

Sahibzada Hamid Raza stated that Israel has been and remains a terrorist state. He claimed that Israel’s hit list includes two countries: Iran and Pakistan.

He alleged that Israel has previously attempted to attack Pakistan and that figures like Netanyahu and Modi are planning further schemes against Pakistan. He accused Israel of being involved in the killing of Muslims worldwide and called for Netanyahu to be tried and sentenced by the International Court of Justice, and to be publicly executed as a warning.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui condemned the Israeli aggression, emphasizing that Israel attacked the friendly nation of Iran. He stated that nothing could be more condemnable than this action, which he described as terrorism on a global scale.

He warned that Israel is a terrorist state that has launched an assault on the entire world, and cautioned that remaining silent in the face of Israeli terrorism would be akin to condoning violence. He concluded by expressing full support for condemning Israeli terrorism.
