National hockey team leaves for Australia, New Zealand tour

LAHORE:  Pakistan national hockey team left for Australia and New Zealand where it will play four-match series against Kiwis and five matches against Kangaroos.

The  team departed from Allama Iqbal International Airport. The squad is comprised 20 players and six officials. During the tour, a total nine matches are scheduled out of which four are against Australia and five against New Zealand.

Haseem Khan is leading the team and five new players have been given chance. Before departure, head coach Khwaja Junaid said that new players were also included in the squad. He added that the team will try to demonstrate best game against the strong teams.

He added that the selectors after consolations with team management have selected best players for the tour.
