National leadership applauds Pakistan U-19 team’s Asia Cup Triumph

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team on their outstanding victory in the Asia Cup, achieved after defeating India in the final. He described the win as clear evidence of the players’ dedication, discipline, and relentless effort.

In his message, the President said the team’s success has brought pride and happiness to the entire country. He praised the captain and squad for their collective performance and acknowledged the Pakistan Cricket Board’s role in nurturing young talent. According to him, the triumph signals a promising future for Pakistan cricket on the international stage. He also commended PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the coaching staff, assuring the team of the nation’s prayers and support.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the young cricketers and the nation, calling the victory historic. He lauded the players for their excellent display in the final against India and said the nation takes immense pride in their achievement. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the Under-19 team would continue to raise Pakistan’s profile globally in the years ahead. He paid tribute to the team management and PCB leadership for their efforts.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised the team’s remarkable performance, highlighting Sameer Minhas for his crucial innings in the final. She said the young Shaheens delighted the nation with a memorable win and added that hoisting the green crescent flag in the Asia Cup final was a moment of collective national success. She remarked that the victory would be remembered in Pakistan for years to come.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti also congratulated the Under-19 team, stating that Pakistan dominated India comprehensively in both batting and bowling. He noted that the Indian batting lineup was effectively dismantled, turning the final into a one-sided contest. He described the win as a reflection of the players’ determination, discipline, and professional skills, and congratulated the players, coaching staff, PCB, and the nation on this landmark achievement.
