Islamabad: The national security committee meeting is underway in the Prime Minister office under the chair of premier Shahbaz Sharif.
The top millitary brass which included Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Muneer and Chairman Joint Chiefs Of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Gen Sahid Shamshad, are in attendance.
Besides that Federal Minister for defence Khawaja Asif, Interior Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are also participating in the huddle.
The meeting will be briefed on the recent wave of terrorism and its prevention while a coordinated strategy will be chalked out against the terrorism.
The National Security Committee will approve clear guidelines on the country s economy and security and will chalk out a stern policy amid terror resurgence.
Sources further said that the meeting will endorse forceful actions against terrorists. The meeting will also present a new operation plan for the elimination of terrorists.
In the first round, the civil-military leadership expressed resolve on Friday to consolidate the hard-earned gains in the country and deal with terrorism with an iron hand.
