Naval Chief reaffirms commitment to defend Pakistan’s maritime borders

KARACHI:  Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf on Saturday visited forward positions in the Creeks Area to assess the operational preparedness and combat capability of units stationed there.

During his visit, the Navy formally commissioned three advanced 2400 TD hovercraft into the Pakistan Marines a major stride in the service’s ongoing modernization and capability enhancement efforts.

These cutting-edge hovercraft are designed to operate seamlessly across diverse environments, including shallow coastal waters, sandy stretches, marshes, and muddy littoral zones. Their versatility allows for rapid mobility in areas inaccessible to conventional vessels, providing the Pakistan Marines with greater agility and reach in complex coastal operations.

The induction of these platforms marks a significant upgrade in the Navy’s ability to respond promptly to security challenges and evolving maritime threats.

Speaking to personnel during the visit, Admiral Ashraf reaffirmed the Navy’s firm resolve to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and sea frontiers.

“The Pakistan Navy stands ready to defend every inch of our maritime domain — from Sir Creek to Jiwani,” he declared.

He further emphasized that the Pakistan Navy remains a pillar of stability and peace in the Indian Ocean Region, protecting national waters while ensuring the safety of international trade routes that pass through them.
