I am Being Punished for Eradicating Terrorism, Power Crisis: Nawaz

Islamabad (November 03, 2017):  Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that he is being punished for eradicating terrorism and power crisis in the country.

In an informal chat with the media at the accountability court, the former Prime Minister said that a Supreme Court judge had remarked the case against him was not of corruption.

He questioned whether he was being punished for conceiving and executing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and bring peace in Karachi.He also responded to PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s unrelenting criticism on him, saying that Zardari Sahib is not assailing him rather he is trying to appease someone else.

He added that a Prime Minister being punished who made the country atomic power.The PML-N chief said that all the democratic parties needed to join hands and cooperate with each others to strengthen democracy.

Nawaz said that the PML-N government had strengthen economy and overcome the crippling energy crisis in the country. He enumerated a numbers of achievements during his four years rule, saying that during the period Stock Market hit the highest level, foreign exchanges reserves also touched highest level.

He added that the cases against him were not of corruption. He questioned whether the charges against him of taking bribe, commission or kickbacks.
