London: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Sunday appealed the nation to donate generously for flood victims and extend helping hand to them.
Addressing his party event regarding flood victims, on video link from London, former premier Nawaz Sharif stressed his party members of National Assembly (MNAs) as well as Provincial Assemblies (MPAs), leaders, workers and activist to set aside all the work and used all energies helping the flood victims.
Nawaz Sharif also appealed all the political parties of the country and their workers to leave all the work and provide all possible help to people facing catastrophe of floods and fulfil your duties as country men.
He lauded the efforts of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif responsible role at the time of catastrophe and initiatives taken for the rescue and relief of the flood victims.
Nawaz Sharif apprised that vice-president of PML-N and his daughter Maryam Nawaz is going to start his visit to flood-hit areas from tomorrow.
Nawaz Sharif said that painful scenes are surfacing from Pakistan nowadays and his heart is sad as the most part of the country submerged in the floods.
The Pakistani nation is in odd pain and distress as devastations and destruction of floods have gripped the country, he added.
He said that thousands of people have died from the raging rains and devastating floods and thousands of others have become homeless and thousands of animals have also died.
Three-time ex premier said that roads, bridges and communication system of the country have destroyed badly owing to destructive floods.
The PML-N supremo said that no doubt it is a natural calamity but at the same time we need to make ourselves accountable and it is time of repentance also.
He said that it is time to soul searching to ask yourself didn’t this catastrophe result of our sins, mistakes, wrongdoings?.
