LAHORE: Petitions were filed against 15 successful candidates including Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Sharif, Khawja Asif’s success challenge in the Lahore High Court
After the general elections, petitions were filed against the successful candidates, the results of fifteen candidates, including former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shahbaz and Khawaja Asif, were challenged in the Lahore High Court by the opposing candidates. In the Lahore High Court, the results of ten successful candidates of the National Assembly and five of the Provincial Assembly have been challenged. Mian Shahzad Farooq challenged the results of the success of Maryam Nawaz, the petitioners are of the view that she was a successful candidate under Form 45, while the RO declared the losing candidate successful in Form 47, while the rating The officers did not allow him to sit during the counting of votes. Similarly, Zaheer Abbas Khokhar won Atta Tarr from NA 127, Ishtyaq Chaudhry from NA 130, Nawaz Sharif, Alia Hamza from NA 118 also challenged the results of declaring Hamza Shehbaz successful. Objections were raised and the results were allegedly altered.
It has been requested that the result under Form 47 be declared void and the results be compiled under Form 45.Candidates who lost 5 seats of the provincial assembly from other cities including Lahore have also filed applications to annul the results of the rating officers. According to the Registrar’s Office, the applications will be heard on February 12.
