Nawaz Sharif reached Pakistan after four years of self-imposed exile, signed legal documents.

After four years of self-imposed exile, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Mian Nawaz Sharif, arrived in Pakistan. He was welcomed at Islamabad Airport by Senator Ishaq Dar and other party leaders. Nawaz Sharif disembarked from the plane and headed to the State Lounge.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Pakistan via a private chartered flight, EY 4525, from Dubai. The flight was named ‘Hope for Pakistan’ and has a capacity of 194 passengers.

The immigration process for all passengers, including Nawaz Sharif, was completed inside the aircraft. Nawaz Sharif had a meeting with Ishaq Dar and the legal team in the state lounge, where he signed legal documents, including appeals against the sentences in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references. He was also briefed on the progress in the ongoing cases.

The immigration process for Nawaz Sharif was completed at Islamabad Airport, and the stamp of entry into Pakistan was put on his passport. Biometric data was also collected. Subsequently, Nawaz Sharif’s special flight is scheduled to depart from Islamabad for Lahore at around 3 pm.Nawaz Sharif’s plane will land at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, where he will be received at the old terminal, not only by the former Prime Minister and PML-N President, Mian Shehbaz Sharif, but also by senior party leaders. It was from this same old terminal that Nawaz Sharif departed for London for treatment via air ambulance on November 19, 2019
