ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Secretary-General Nayyar Bukhari has rejected the recent hike in prices of the petrol, demanding the government to withdraw its decision.

PPP’s Secretary-General, in his statement, claimed that the federal government increased petrol price by up to six rupees and of other petroleum goods prices for ‘benefitting financial mafia’.

“The oil prices are going down in the International market. Price-hike on petroleum goods was done to hand benefits to the financial mafia”, Nayyar Bukhari said.

Terming PTI-led government comprised of ‘blood-sucking slugs’, the Secretary-General said that people are unfortunate to have this government’s regime imposed on them.

On Sunday, the government announced its decision of increasing petrol price by up to six rupees for the month of April while other petroleum goods prices rose as well.

The government rose prices of light speed diesel and kerosene oil by three rupees per litre. While it also hikes prices of high-speed diesel by six rupees.

These prices will be applicable from 12 am-midnight of April 01, 2018.
