NCCIA summons Aleema Khan over alleged anti-state social media campaign

LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has issued a notice to Aleema Khan regarding allegations related to anti-state activities on social media platforms.

Sources reveal that the NCCIA Lahore Zone has instructed Aleema Khan to appear personally at their office located in Gulberg-II, Lahore, on July 17 at 11:30 AM. The purpose of this summons is to record her statement in her defense, as part of Inquiry No. 2531/25 dated May 27, 2025. She is accused of engaging in anti-state conduct through social media channels.

The notification also states that if Aleema Khan fails to appear, it will be presumed that she has no evidence or explanation to offer, which could lead to legal proceedings against her.

The NCCIA functions under the Ministry of Interior, and non-compliance with the summons could result in legal action under Section 174.
